[...] Do you have daily or weekly family devotions? (I think this is the husband’s responsibility primarily and is a responsibility that is not for us as wives to nag or show disappointment in our husband’s for not leading in this area. We should pray for our husband’s that the Lord would give them this desire.) For what we as moms can do see this post. [...]

Thank you for the information on google video. I had no idea such a site existed! Have you been able to watch "How to make money and spend it God's way"? We have it if your kids have not seen it. I'd be happy to loan it to you. Bro. Hovind has been a real blessing to us!

Susannah is often asleep around 6 or 6:30 when I read my Bible and drink my coffee. Times she is not asleep, I do a couple of things, such as nurse her while I read (not a very quality devotional time but that is not often), she sometimes entertains herself in her exersaucer, and occasionally Bobby has been up for an hour doing his devotions so he takes her and walks around with her while I read.
I am sure we will have to adjust as she gets older and crawling/walking. Perhaps one of the older children can entertain your toddler while you read for say 30 min...?
Thanks for the comment!

Our family really enjoyed Hovind's teachings. You can get a lot of them through google video, right on your computer. I like the idea of having the children read 2 chapters before they even get out of bed...what do you do about the little one though? Mine seems to get ME up, so that coffee time would not be happening. I think that would be a great way to have the children start the day, better than anything else. We have a 3x5 index card box that we keep our scriptures in and use the Charlotte Mason Scripture Memory System. We used to have prayer cards that we prayed over every meal, but we've gotten away from that...thanks for reminding me! What a great post!
