Nothing much

This week my hubby is working 3rd shift, and that has been somewhat of an adjustment. The kids find it hard to keep quiet while Daddy sleeps and by the time he wakes up in the afternoon they are climbing the walls. It doesn’t help that the weather will NOT cooperate…in the last couple of days we’ve seen 70 degree weather followed by 20 degrees and almost 2 inches of snow! We did have a wonderful day outside Saturday, cutting wood, building a fire and eating roasted weenies for lunch AND supper! I knew what the upcoming week looked like and firmly encouraged the children to play outside most of the day!
Thankfully we have 1 box fan that we run in our bedroom to drown out noises and that seems to be very effective. Our preacher suggested putting aluminum foil on the windows to block out the sun as our room lets in too much light. I am interested to see what a difference that will make. If it works even a little bit I believe I will leave the aluminum foil up even when this 3rd shift stint is over! But then will I ever want to get out of bed!?
I had wanted to post a Work for Me Wednesday today but my digital camera finally died. If you’re looking for a creative way to showcase your child’s stuffed animal collection, please come back NEXT week for my solution that works for me! I hope to have a replacement camera by then…
That reminds me, I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions for me as to what digital camera I should purchase? I would like to stay below $200, but get the best quality, clearest, crispest J picture I can get. I am currently looking at Consumer Reports best buy recommendation of the Canon Powershot SX110IS 9 MP. Is there a camera that you or a friend uses that you would recommend?
We finally started and finished the boy’s room face-lift. Their poor room has looked so shabby for over 2 years now and we got it looking so very nice in 4 hours! In that time we painted their walls & doors, affixed paneling and chair rail to one wall to cover a large hole, cleaned, vacuumed & hung a few decorations. I chose a smoky blue paint color and plan to decorate with the Americana style in mind…curtains, linen and decorations. I would love almost anything from The Country Porch.
They were so excited going to bed tonight. I chuckled when I heard one twin tell his brother, “Doesn’t it feel like we’re going to sleep in a mansion!?” To which he replied, “Yeah! I feel like I am going to be someone famous living in a famous house!” LoL Too funny! So happy to give them a little joy and make their surroundings pleasant and homey.
Thanks to my wonderful husband who helped paint, sawed the paneling and was great company! He was also a great sport about eating sandwiches for supper so I could keep working. Hopefully I can post pictures soon!
I wish I could post what we’ve done so far…I wonder if my favorite father-in-law would let me borrow his camera until I can replace mine? Eh Grandfather!?

Don’t you just feel bloggy paralized without a camera? I did when my kids lost my battery pack. Hope you get a camera soon. I like a CAnnon and soooooo wish I had sprung a bit more than $87 and gotten one like that! My camera is an alright snapshot, but for a photo buff like myself, it can be frustrating to not have more flexibility. How much longer is 3rd shift going to be?

I was going to say, when my husband worked 3rd’s it was awful with the kids! Even though my husband is a very deeeeeeeeeeep sleeper, I always worried that we were being too noisy. HOpe your husband’s not on 3rd’s long enough to get used to it, it was hard on JOdy to get back into regular life.

I DO feel paralyzed w/out the camera. It’s like I’ve lost all will to post!? LoL The 3rd shift should only have lasted a week but there is rumor that after this week they’ll skip a couple of weeks and put him back on for another week. The change and uncertainty is killing him! As for me and the kids we could do better in the mood department…I am always fussing at them to be quieter and they’re stir crazy! I’ve not gotten much sleep myself trying to stay awake and such that I’ve been a bear.

This is the exact same camera that I have and I love it! It was a great next step for me. I think the only thing better would be a professional one so it’s right up there with the best amateur camera in my opinion.
