Peach Crumb Cake

For all of y’all who know me and have heard me talk in my middle Georgia southern drawl, here’s a Georgia Peach recipe just for you.
May is almost gone and in June peaches are ready for the eatin’, ready to be bitten into with all their juicy sweetness dribbling down your chin. While I love to eat fresh peaches, I also LOVE a good old fashioned peach cobbler.
This peach cobbler calls for a can of peaches, but I’ve had great success using fresh peaches.
This would also make a great gift in a jar to give as a hostess gift this summer! Layer dry ingredients in a wide mouth jar and be sure to include directions. Decorate lid with a square of fabric, tie with ribbon or raffia and wa la! You have a gift to make any southern lady swoon!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup quick oats
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup butter
- 3 1/2 cups fresh peaches, peeled (or 1 29 oz can peach pie filling)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter and stir into dry ingredients to form a crumbly mixture. Press 1/2 of the crumbs into a greased 9×13 inch pan and top with the peaches. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture over filling. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

This sounds yummy! I love the idea of putting it in a jar and giving it as a gift. I will definitely be doing that for a few special teachers! Thanks for sharing!
