The Breakfast Challenge: Day 5

June 6, 2009 > 3 Comments

This morning’s breakfast of Peanut Butter Banana Smoothies was easy to prepare and easy to clean up. I will for sure add this recipe to my master list.

While I do not care for bananas (unless layered between vanilla pudding and Nilla wafers) the children loved these smoothies and even asked me to make it for tomorrow’s breakfast!

The recipe couldn’t be easier:

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 2 Tbls peanut butter
  • 1 Tbls honey
  • 1 cup milk

Place banana, peanut butter and honey in blender and blend until smooth. Add milk and blend until well incorporated.

I doubled this recipe and had to make a second batch for everyone.

Tomorrow’s breakfast is Apple Crisp. I’ve served this as dessert, but honestly it makes for a healthy and delicious breakfast too!

See what Joy cooked up while camping this morning!

Are you up for a challenge? Do you need some inspiration and motivation to get back in the kitchen and cook? We’d love for you to join us in this adventure. Just focus on making breakfasts every day this week, trying out new recipes or bringing back some oldie-but-goodies.

Then next Monday Joy and I will each host a Mr. Linky and you can link up your post about the breakfasts you tried this week (and of course include pictures and mouth-watering recipes, too!).

For each of the the following three weeks, the challenge will be lunches, dinners, and then snacks. Then, at the end of this 4-week cooking challenge, Joy and I will be compiling master menu plans from which we can more easily plan our meals. So we’re both looking forward to some new meal ideas from our fabulous readers. We’d love for you to join us!

I just made your peanut butter smoothies for my boys. We are used to frozen smoothies so I didn’t know if they would go for these or not – but they so totally did! Mine is in the freezer chilling for a bit while I clean up my mess. Thanks for the recipe!
