This~N~That

Wow! What a busy month June has been!
We’ve known for months that June would be busy but I do believe that a couple more engagements have been added recently.
Let’s see…We’ve been to camp-meeting @ New Beginnings Baptist (3 days), Preacher’s Retreat in Oliver Springs (2 days), King James Conference @ Antioch Baptist (2 days), birthday parties, library summer reading program activities, not to mention our own church activities and services…and the month is not over YET! We’ve still got Preacher’s Fellowship @ our church, special services next Wednesday, Rescue Mission and 5th Sunday Fellowship with a trip out-of town afterward to visit another church!
I like to complain about how busy I am but in reality I LOVE all the things we are doing. I love visiting with fellow-believers and hearing the Word of God preached. That’s my idea of FUN!
So we’ve been busy…but I also have tried to make home, family and church more of a priority and that tends to eliminate computer time. I hope to write a blog devotional soon concerning these things.
I’ve had a few health concerns that I am still trying to figure out without going to the Dr. Been there, done that…Doc tells me I am stressed out and need to take it easy, rest. Like that can happen! LoL…Or he’ll hand me a diet plan that says I can have cardboard & water to eat for the next 3 years…Or he’ll scribble me out a prescription for some drug that is sure to do the trick. I can think of a much better way to spend $75 + dollars. So if you think about it please send up a quick prayer for me, that the Lord would guide and direct, give me peace about going to see the Dr. or continue to figure these things out on my own.
For those of you praying for wisdom concerning the nodule on my thyroid…several months ago I had a biopsy performed on a large nodule on my thyroid that came back as “suspicious.” I’ve yet to have anything done. My 2 options are to have it removed or continue to watch it for changes. The good ole’ Doc did give me a thyroid medication that he “hoped” would shrink it, but after 2 months of taking the drug my hair started falling out and turning to straw. It took another 2 months of being off of the meds for my hair to return to normal. So for now we’ve decided to pretend it’s not really there watch it and maybe after it’s been a year I’ll get another ultrasound and see if it’s grown any. Thank you all for praying!
While I am mentioning prayer requests please remember the Iannello family and New Beginnings Baptist Church. A lot of you know Ms. Pam (of Rise and Shine for Jesus) has been battling breast cancer for a couple of years. She went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning. What an encouragement she has been to me! I don’t know that I personally knew any lady as kind, gracious, godly, and submissive yet strong/independent in a right way as Ms. Pam. I am encouraged by having known her even just a little bit and determined to be a better wife and mother through her testimony.
Have a good day and choose to BE BLESSED today!
